Conference Language PolicyThe official language of the conference will English. We expect that the conference secretariat is only likely to have enough resources to arrange for translations from Asian languages into English for the special cases of speakers who are invited to talk at the conference plenary sessions. However, we do want to be as flexible as possible with regards to the languages that speakers give their presentations in. If a person giving a paper feels that they need to present in an Asian language, then this may be possible on a limited scale. For example, a person might present their paper in their first language while the text of a pre-arranged translation or summary in English is projected via Powerpoint or an overhead projector – so the presentation would be "dubbed". If any paper presenter would like to arrange this or any other type of "dubbed" or translated presentation then please contact the organizing committee or the members of the relevant country contact group. However, we regret that we will not have the resources to offer translation services across the board. Translation is only likely to be available on a case-by-case basis where we happen to be in contact people with sufficient skills, enthusiasm and spare time. |
